In the near future, my journey into the industry is going to shift to be a much more practical creation of work than it currently is, and I am ecstatic about this opportunity to enter into the fine art field.
Because of this new exciting direction I thought would share one of my creative influences, and delve into this area of art in amongst this blog. A huge inspiration for me is Shelby Donnelly, who is an interdisciplinary visual artist and educator. She makes collages spanning practices in drawing, screenprinting, video, installation, and movement. Something so amazing about her work is its slow observation and collection of fragments that play and poking fun at existence.

Becoming the type of artist that could used such verse mixed medias and create fashion into comedic art expression would be the dream. I love the expression of emotion that this type of art could communicate, and the creative freedom.
When interviewed about univeristy life she has been quoted "There was so much male energy in the room—I wanted to make it my own. ‘You gotta burn to shine’ was the attitude. I was coming from my hometown Rockford Illinois where I was heavily influenced by the local punk scene and had started getting into more experimental music" I love that she takes music as inspiration as do i, when ever i make art i completely connect to the music around me and the sounds and colours blend to one. The fact she was involved in the punk scene really connotes through her mixed media style and creative chaos based in her performance video art, which i too really wish to explore in the future.
In the past i have been heavily involved in the theatre and performance, authentic and commercial musical theatre and i want to take this love and passion for not only physical theatre but for videography and direction. This passion and Donnellys videography connote a lot of healing of the inner child which i love seeing in art and i hold dearly. This is the dream idea for my industry plan :-).
But what does it take in the industry to make this dream reality, well come September i will be embarking onto BA Fine Art and from there my skills will grow and my industry connections will expand, i will then go onto show casing my work and taking commissions / selling my work online to expand my name, you need dedication to succeed and be able to 24/7 produce new ideas and new ways of thinking crossing your own boundaries and comfort.
