Eve Hartley and my childhood passion for JOURALISM.

An area of the industry that has always held my interest is fashion/ art journalism. In our current group magazine mock up project, i have taken on the role of writer/ interviewer, which i am super excited about, however is definitely out of my comfort zone or what I've always allowed my comfort zone to be. Being dyslexic i have always struggled

with the writing and research side of all academic work, but i have always had a passion and found enjoyment from it for instance when i was 7 we did a piece of work were we wrote newspaper articles and created our own newspaper and i decided that was something i potentially wanted to do in the future. However due to my challenges and lack of encouragement from primary school teachers its always put me off. i became very insecure about my writing and especially to show people so if i ever had the option not be have this role in a group project, i would of always much rather be an image or concept maker. This comes a lot more naturally to me and i feel comfortable in this position. That's why for this project i wanted to push myself and relight that passion i have.

I will be interviewing and writing up, in a conversational tone for our zine, along with learning more about streetwear fashion. A famous female multimedia journalist is Eve Hartley who covers international news, LGBT rights and subcultures as a freelancer for HuffPost, Teen Vogue, PinkNews, BBC, Stylist, DAZED, VICE, The Telegraph, Metro, The iPaper and more. i find her topics of work super inspiring as it covers a range of lgbtqia+ topics as well as left wing leaning arguments. i think female reputation in the industry is super important and i really respect her as a freelance writer.
